I work in oils, pastels, watercolour and mixed media.
For my flower paintings, I find the pure vivid colours available in
water colour paints a joy to use and a stimulus for the senses.
You will note that my oil paintings use a completely
different technique to my softer water colours and I think this is due
to the fact that my oils tend to portray a tougher side of nature -
usually the wilds of Northern Ontario in Canada or the untamed expanses
of my local Dartmoor.
Having recently returned from a photographic holiday
in Northern India I will soon be working on a series of works depicting
the splendour of Rajasthan to be followed by a series of Bali..
My paintings are hanging in private collections in Indonesia,
Canada and the West Indies as well as at home in England. Here at Chipley
Farm we are in the process of building a dedicated art studio and gallery
so "watch this space". There could be painting holidays on
the agenda very soon.
