B&B on a Devon Farm

For a family holiday, a short stay, or just a break in your journey, take time out to enjoy the award winning hospitality extended by Fred and Louisa Westcott in their Devon farmhouse. In our large 4poster bedroom enjoy the benefits of a genuine Tempur mattress (guaranteed to ease aching backs).

Situated in the small village of Bickington halfway between the market town of Newton Abbot and the ancient stannary town of Ashburton, Chipley Farm is a modern, stylish farmhouse with large gardens facing South across beautiful countryside.

A large, architect designed studio opening off our kitchen houses many of Louisa's paintings and our guests are very welcome to have a browse and chat.

The AA have recognised our warm hospitality, relaxed family atmosphere, and attention to detail with a major hospitality award

Louisa is an artist and Fred a farmer, and we invite you to our home and studio. As you step out onto our sunny balcony and wonder at the panorama of wooded valley and distant green meadows, you will be looking at the England of story books - the England of dreams. Whether you are visiting from overseas or taking a break from your own part of the UK, a visit to Devon is highly recommended. There is so much to see and do. For just a few ideas, follow our "out and about" link. We have steam trains, National Trust properties, beautiful gardens, beaches, moorland - all on our doorstep.

There are calves to see, dogs to walk, lanes to stroll, gardens to ramble in, pet chickens with personalities - everything to help you unwind and relax.

You will soon feel the magic of Chipley Farm, for there is surely something very special about this little piece of Devon. We are very close to Dartmoor National Park, the coast, walking, shopping, golf, riding, fishing, galleries, antiques, wildlife - yet still able to enjoy peace and tranquillity. Listen to the songbirds and recharge your batteries.

Newton Abbot, Exeter, Plymouth, Totnes, Ashburton, Buckfastleigh, Tavistock, are all very close.
